![]() ![]() Something that satisfies my silent yearning for more paranormal ventures without feeling that it's just there for embellishment. I can say that it consistently reflects the elements from the previous books and even offers more. Every chapter was molded-up with great tension, creepiness, and occurrence of events that additionally intrigues the readers. It's remarkable how every book from this series continues to improve and deliver something marvelous. People looking for a realistic view of life in the Pacific Northwest in the late 19th century will love this book.ĭisclaimer: I received a copy from the author in the hopes I'd review it. Another excellent leg on the journey of the Eidola Project. Beautifully crafted and well researched, this is a fine book. There are not many horror authors around now writing such quality horror as Robert Herold. The horror writing here once again illustrates the capability of this author. The horror of racism from that day still exists today - glorified in some quarters. Racism is the underlying theme alongside horror. It probably should make today's readers shake their heads that such bad behavior continues to this day. Robert Herold has been able to take societal issues of the 19th century and present them relevantly in the 21st century. Practice battling inner demons is almost not enough here. I want to thank Robert Herold for sending me a copy of this book so I can give my personal thoughts. I recommend this series to fans of horror/paranormal based in a historical period. I am very much looking forward to the next instalment in this series. As much as I have a soft spot for Nigel, I would love to see more of the other characters again as they do not feel quite as well developed. I truly feel like I’m traveling back in time and joining the Eidola Project on their journeys. I absolutely love the blend of paranormal and historical fiction. But Robert writes horror so well that it really is able to creep me out. It’s really hard for a book to actually scare me, it only happens on rare occasions. He is absolutely a morally grey character, but he has a truly caring side that is slowly being released as he grows to trust the world and other people again. ![]() I hated Nigel when I started the series but he is starting to worm his way into my heart. I just love seeing them grow and evolve together. They gain a greater depth, their connections grow stronger. As each book goes by, I feel more connected to the characters. This is the kind of series that really gets its claws into you. Can they end the terror these people face? Are they safe themselves? They are called to La Push to help the native people who are being attacked by a Demon. Totem of Terror returns to the characters in the Eidola Project. This series just seems to get better with each book! ![]()
